About

Hi, I’m Kiera Baker — a passionate sports journalist and broadcaster who loves capturing the stories that happen both on and off the field. I earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism with a focus in Sports Journalism from Penn State University.  I also receied a sports certificate from the John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.

My love for sports and storytelling go hand-in-hand. Whether I’m calling a basketball or football game, interviewing athletes, or producing highlight reels, I’m driven by the excitement of connecting people through sports. I’ve had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as an intern with the Houston Texans, a Sports Media Associate for Collective Minds, and a Boxing Host and Interviewer for BGP Studios. I’ve also worked with C-Net Broadcasting, Fox Sports Big Noon, SuperBowl and Centre County Report, where I’ve done everything from play-by-play commentary to live reporting.

As a former USCAA All-American and leading scorer for Penn State Women’s Basketball, I understand the athlete’s mindset — the preparation, emotion, and determination behind every performance. That experience fuels my storytelling and helps me connect with athletes on a deeper level.

Beyond the mic, I’m proud to be a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Association of Black Journalists, and Women in Sports Media Houston. My goal is to continue amplifying diverse voices in sports and inspiring the next generation of women in media.

Thanks for stopping by my page — I’m just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!
